On October 4-10, 2021, Iris Barry and Gennady Chudnovets, leading international trainers of the World Federation of Tourist Guides Associations (WFTGA), conducted "Train the Trainer" for 8 English and 12 Russian-speaking local tourist guides.
The main purpose of the training is to increase the number of certified national trainers who can train tourist guides in the country. During the training, which consisted of theoretical and practical phases, participants were given detailed knowledge about the role of the trainer, the international standards for the development of qualification programs, the design and preparation of training courses, the importance of participant feedback, practical assessment, written exams and other important topics. At the end of the training, those who successfully will pass the exams will be awarded the title of "National Trainer" of WFTGA and the relevant certificates.
The training was supported by the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and the Azerbaijan Tourism Guides Association within the framework of the Private Sector Development and Vocational Education and Training in the South Caucasus program implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
