ATGA has organized international HOT (Hands on Tourist Guiding) training for local guides

Azerbaijan Tourism Guides Association (ATGA) with the support of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board has organized another HOT (Hands on Tourist Guiding) training in Baku tourist guides. Training took place on 17-25 July. The main goal of training aimed at improving the technical skills of tourist guides within the international standards of the World Federation of Tour Guides Associations (WFTGA). The training program was taught to 22 participants divided into two groups: an English group by Ivana Curuvija, a leading trainer of the WFTGA, and a Russian group with international trainer Sakina Askerova.

Within the training, participants were taught practical and theoretical knowledge in walking tour on 28 May, Nizami and Khagani streets, a bus tour on Neftchilar and Heydar Aliyev avenues, Uzeyir Hajibeyov and Yusif Safarov streets, as well as a tour of the Shirvanshahs palace complex. The training also included the provision of instruction to tourist guides about professional ethics based on international standards, group psychology, work with tourists with disabilities and the development of a professional tour plan.

It should be noted that since 2019, HOT (Hands on Tourist Guiding) training have been held in English, German and Russian, covering more than 80 tourist guides.
