Tourist guides preparation along the thematic routes in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

In the framework of the 2nd article of STANDARDIZATION, CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION AND TRAINING section in Action Plan about collaboration with NAR in the tourism field, on the 29th of July-2nd of august, Azerbaijan Tourism Board and Azerbaijan Tourist Guides Association (ATGA) have implemented “Tourist guide preparation along the thematic routes in NAR region” in Nakhchivan city, in collaboration with NAR Tourism Department (NAR TD) and NAR Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population (NAR MLSPP).

The group was considered firstly for 12 people, but after announcement on information sources, the number of participants were increased to 22. The group was compiled with the help of NAR TD. Mainly the target was the people from the tourism field, especially the active youth from the social-humanitarian life of the region. Participants were provided with a one-time coffee break and continuous water in a day. The venue for training was Nakhchivan City Vocational High School under NAR MLSPP.
On the First Day, the head of NAR TD Mr Akber Novruzov and NAR MLSPP Mr Nijat Babayev has done an official opening and stress the importance of tourism in raising the employability rate in the country.

The main goal of the training was to increase the awareness in the appropriate region about tourism in Azerbaijan, motivate the young people to join the promotion of the country as a tourism destination. For this they were trained according to the standards of the World Federation of Tourist Guides Association and according to Presidential decrees, they get special sessions on cultural heritage routes.
