ON DECEMBER 22, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE AZERBAIJAN TOURIST GUIDES ASSOCIATION GUIDES (ATGA) ON THE RESULTS OF 2021 WAS HELD.

The general assembly was attended by representatives of the State Tourism Agency, the Tourism Board of Azerbaijan, the Association of Hotels of Azerbaijan and the Association of Travel Agencies of Azerbaijan, ATGA member guides, as well as representatives of various travel companies.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) Bahruz Askerov pointed that the tourist guide is an important part of the tourism industry. He informed about the state accreditation of the newly created ATB certification body for tourist guides (TBSO).

Secretary General of the Management of the Azerbaijan Tourist Guides  Association, Tural Musayev informed the participants of the event about the activities of the Association, the work done and plans for the future. Tural Musayev spoke about the support provided to guides during the pandemic, international and local trainings organized by the ATGA, as well as cooperation with the World Federation of Tourist Guide Association (WFTGA).

He expressed gratitude to the State Tourism Agency , the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and other partners supporting the activities of the Association.

During the event, Sakina Askerova, an international coach, co-founder of the ATGA and Quality Manager of the Tourist Guides Certification Body (TBSO), provided the audience with detailed information about the guide certification process. Sakina Askerova urged guides to actively participate in the process of evaluating tourist guides.

At the Q&A session held within the framework of the general assembly, ATGA members asked a wide range of questions on parking spaces, museum activities, pricing policy, infrastructure of tourist routes and other topics based on an online survey, and the event ended with a networking session.
